
In the mid-1990s Buddy Boone, a direct descendant of the legendary American pioneer Daniel Boone, set off on a path which would blaze a trail through the fragmented market of resort real estate. As a well respected and established Atlanta real estate agent, Buddy had already realized his own dream of 2nd home ownership in a Florida resort. Soon after he became focused on helping his clients pursue their American Dream – owning a second home in Florida. Rather than send his clients to agents and developments he knew little about, Buddy got a Florida real estate license so he could assist his clients with absolute confidence. His newly discovered ability to help local people find great deals on getaway homes in a resort location proved such a successful enterprise, Buddy began exploring ways to expand on the concept.
Realizing that other local Atlanta agents could also benefit from selling resort property, Buddy convinced his Atlanta brokerage to allow him to present his network-based, second home sales platform. Soon hundreds of agents were adopting his tactics and in November 2005 Resort Connection sprang to life. During this time, Buddy befriended a prominent resort executive, Jim Olin, who immediately envisioned the possibilities of having a nationwide network of resort specialists. In fact, Jim’s vision encompassed even greater possibilities by linking active resort developments around the nation to the base of agents. It didn’t take long for the two to maximize the power of this tremendous concept and in January 2008, Jim Olin jumped in full force, becoming the CEO and managing partner of Resort Connection. Together, the two are pioneering a new way for real estate agents around the world to market and sell real estate.
